Course Details
The Marine Basic IGF Training (MED-IGF-B) course is based on the requirements established by Regulation V/3 of the Standards of Training and Certification for Watchkeeping Personnel (STCW) Convention and detailed in Section A-V/3 of the STCW Code.
This course is intended for Masters, Officers, Ratings, and other personnel on ships subject to the International Code of Safety for Ships Using Gases or other Low-flashpoint Fuels (IGF Code).
This course builds upon competencies developed through completion of FIRE-1404 - STCW-MED-Basic Safety Training or any Transport Canada equivalent certificate. It covers all subjects prescribed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Model Courses 7.13 "Basic training for Masters, Officers, Ratings and other personnel on ships subject to the IGF Code".
Components of this course consist of theoretical/classroom learning, practical/scenario-based live fire training evolutions and skill development.
